Today, increasing Facebook video engagement rates and watch time is a challenging task in a highly competitive environment. If you create videos for your business and post them on Facebook or other social media platforms, it’s important to get more people to watch and engage with your videos.

1: Upload Video to Facebook Page’s Video Library: -

Instead of uploading your videos directly to Facebook, one of the most effective ways to manage your videos is to upload them to your Facebook Page’s Video Library. This strategy works best when you upload your videos to the Video Library first.

Find the Video Library Option Here:

Facebook Page → Publishing Tools → Video Library (on the left side)

On the right side, click the Upload button to upload a new video.

For widescreen videos, the best video format is 1920 × 1080 pixels. This format allows mobile users to turn their phones sideways and watch videos in landscape mode, providing a better viewing experience. For micro-content videos that are 2 minutes or less, a square aspect ratio of 1080 × 1080 pixels is a good option.

2. Optimize Your Video’s Text and Thumbnail Attributes

After uploading your video to the Facebook Video Library, the next step is to optimize it. Some of the best optimization strategies include choosing a clear and meaningful video title and adding an attention-grabbing description that ends with a call to action.

You should also add relevant tags to make your videos easier for people to find when searching on Facebook.

Now, upload an SRT file to add captions to your videos. SRT files are helpful on Facebook because they allow the platform to understand the content of your videos and show them to the right audience.

Many users watch videos without sound, so adding captions can help capture their attention and encourage them to engage with your videos.

Finally, upload a custom thumbnail. Choose a high-quality image with less than 20% text. If the image contains more than 20% text, you may lose your position in Facebook Ads.

3. Schedule the Video for Release:-

The next step is to schedule your video. This allows you to give your ad campaign enough time to go live at the same time as your organic video.

To schedule the video, click the small blue arrow next to the blue Publish button. Then, click the Schedule Post option.

Video Scheduling

Choose the date and time when you want your video to be published. If your video promotes an offer or discount or is intended for a specific time period, you can schedule the video according to your requirements. Then, click Schedule.

4. Add the First Comment Before Release :-

When the video goes live, add the first comment yourself or ask someone you know to add it. This strategy can help increase your video’s watch time and clicks. You can also follow this strategy for your blog posts.

5. Create a Facebook Ad Campaign to Promote Your Video:-

Now, go to Power Editor to create an ad campaign for your video. When people watch your video for a longer period, these ads can be used to reach and engage viewers based on their video-watching behavior.

Choose the Video Views objective.

Set your budget, and then schedule your video ad to go live at the same time as your organic video is published.

After this, choose your ad targeting options, including demographics and interests. You can also target specific audiences or languages to improve viewer retention rates.

For the placement options, choose Mobile Only and remove the Instagram and Audience Network placements. This will leave you with In-Stream Video and Feed Video placements.

People who watch these placements are already consuming video content, so they may be more willing to watch your video. This can potentially result in higher viewer retention rates.

At the Ad level, select the video you uploaded and add a CTA (Call to Action). Make sure your Meta Pixel is enabled, and then you’re ready to submit your ad for review.
